Blue Bird Thank You

Oh My Gosh! Isn't this image adorable! It is one of the many adorable images at Sliekje Digi Stamps. The second best thing about these images, the first being that they are so wonderful, is that she offers all of the images free. I think I have just about all of them, lol. Each one seems to adorable not to grab. Not only does she do digital images, but she is a painter and has a separate blog for that. These are a must see for anyone. What a talented women! I have been trying to make a thank you card for one of my husbands friends who so kindly gave us a GC for a fantastic restaurant. This restaurant was so cool, I definitely want to go back some time. We were not dressed appropriately at the time but will be next time! It was so fancy!!! The waiter even brushed off our table between plates with a little brush he kept in his apron. WOW, I have never seen that before. I felt so out of my element, lol.

Anyway, I tried to come up with a more masculine card but just could not get it. I really have to practice these. I finally settled on an image of 2 bluebirds representing my husband and I after we left the restaurant. Very content, happy and FULL!

Just look at this awesome paper. I got it at a local scrap store a few weeks ago. It is so shimmery and the pattern is flocked. My tip is that if you don't have pattern paper that match each other, just use one fancy paper as I did here. It really works wonders when you can't add a couple of pattern papers for layering and eye appeal.

The ribbon is so pretty. I got it at the same scrap store. I purchased a few colors but only bought 1 yard each. I know...what was I thinking!!! Now I HAVE to go back and get more. This time I certainly won't be silly enough to get just a yard.

I was going to color the bellies pink, but I was afraid that it would bleed into the blue and make a purple outline. That would have looked a bit funny I thought, so I kept it as a pale blue highlight.

I hope he likes it even though it is not exactly masculine. Now all I have to do is write the sentiment. My husband and I had a spat about that. I thought since it was his friend he should fill it out. He thinks because I have better hand writing (not much better I must add) I should do it. This is such a hard thing to do for me. I tend to write to much and have to continue on the back of the card, lol. If I write less, I feel as though I did not thank the person properly. Ever feel that way? I am still thinking of what to write! I suppose a simple "thank you, we loved it!" may do. What do you think?
