Today is the first day that I am able to watch my grandson since my illness last October. Oh WOW, it is much harder now that he can walk, run, climb...You know...act like a total boy. I am half way through the day and am exhausted, lol. So no crafting today. Sitting my grandson is definitely worth the sacrifice, though!
As spring is slowly arriving here in NH, so are the birds. The past 2 days they have been so happy that my quiet neighborhood was actually noisy. It reminded me so much of the movie Bambi.
One bird I don't expect to see soon is the hummingbird. I have only seen one a few times, but it was always when the weather was much warmer. Usually late spring or perhaps early summer.
When I saw this image, I was not sure how to color this adorable bird. Though I knew the hummingbirds around here are blue and green, just how the colors appear on them I could not remember. Sooo...off to Google Images I went. What a help it is to have an actual photo to follow.
The image took me quite a bit of time. I am not one of those copic colorers that can whip out an image in less time than the rest of the card takes. Maybe someday, lol. To get finished on the card before the afternoon was gone, I relied on some really nice pattern paper, ribbon and a charm. Around the humming bird looks rather white, but in real life I colored it with some pretty blue chalk to make it look like the sky behind him.
As you can see, I just copied the front for the inside. There is lots of room to add a personal note here. I do not add a stamped sentiment most of the time. I never know what I will use a card for so I keep them blank. I can always stamp in a sentiment when the time comes to use it.
I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Prairie Fairy Friday: Spring
Stamp Something: Use something digital (this is a digital image)
Our Daily Bread Designs: Birds
Dream Valley: Thing with wings
Sparkles Forum: Spring
Tuesday Throwdown: Spring
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!!

OMG Sandy this card is amazing. Love your coloring!! The inside looks amazing too. Love how it all matches the card front.
I have finally seen some hummingbirds the last couple of years for the very first time. There is a family about an hour from where I live that has what they call a "hummingbird haven" and there were tons of them flying around. I was actually lucky enough to see one (for about a half a minute) in my own backyard last year after I hung up one of those hummingbird feeders. They are beautiful!
What beautiful shading on your hummingbird, Sandy! Gotta love Google for color reference! Love the charm you added to your ribbon too. :)
What a beautiful card, love the image and the paper you have used. We don't get hummingbirds at all here in England but in the south (where I live) we do get a moth that flies just like a hummingbird. BTW you look a very young Grandma!
Thanks for joining our challenge at Dream Valley. xx
