I don't usually post 2 times in one day, but I missed yesterday. It took me 2 days to make this card for some challenges that end today. Why did it take so long? Well, I just was not happy with the growing results. Did that ever happen to you?
I had such a pretty card in mine. One of the challenges is to use the faux silk technique. I was excited since I love the look of this technique though it had been a long time since I used it. I decided that this card would be worthy of my much cherished and extremely horded velvet and washi papers.
Can you see how pretty it is. The velvet paper is more like fabric than paper and even picks up EVERYTHING like velvet does, lol. The stitching came out OK, I have only used my machine a couple of times since I am not very good at it. Not that ignoring it will make me better...sheesh, I can be so silly lol
I used my other much beloved paper...white gold from Paper Temptress. It is a very pale yellowish color with the prettiest gold shimmer.
Here is the finished card. I had fits trying to find embellishments to work well with the card. I had ordered some really tiny flowers that would have been perfect for it, but they had not come in yet. I used some larger ones and just stopped thinking about how cute the tiny flowers would look. I finished the card by lunch...then guess what came in the mail in the afternoon! Yup...my ordered flowers, lol
I don't have the money to order those pretty pearl swirls I see so often. I did find, however, these glittery metal swirls in the floral section and hoped they would add that little something that was missing.
Does my post sound blah...lol...that is because I am not the happiest with the results, but I really wanted to enter it into the challenges. Sew...here it is.

Hi Sandy, me again :-)
I just read your comment on my digital tuesday card that you liked my stitching on the ribbon. I have to admit I cheated (LOL) as that is actually not ribbon, it's a strip of black cardstock and I used my sewing machine on that. Also, those flowers already came with the print, but you gave me an idea, as I have never thought about doing that myself.
Hope you're having a fabulous day,
Hugs,
Ellie.
