To Pretty To Cover

This card was so simple to make because the paper was just to pretty to cover up. With my last mega paper purchase, I got a paper pack from DCWV called the Mariposa. The papers are all so beautiful and glittery I just had to have it, lol. When I went to use it I realized that cutting or covering it would be a paper crafter faux pas.

Isn't that glitter the best! Birds, butterflys and swirls, Oh MY!

For the sentiment I used the very last of my gold lazer paper to cut a lable with my new nesties.

I used my stamp-a-ma-jig and carefully stamped the sentiment in the center of the tag. Then...OH NO!!!! Canyou see what happened? It came out crooked. How could THAT have happened...picture Lucy crying and you will get a glimpse of me when I saw it.

Now what was I going to do? That was the last scrap of gold paper I had. (looks like I will have to place another order with Paper Temptress, lol)

I decided to just embellish it so it would not look so awkward. Those itty bitty pearls are from Stampin' Up...yes the ones that don't like to stick for me, but they are the only ones I have right now. See how much trouble I had with those stinkers, lol

For the card base I used the absolutley stunning White Gold from Paper Temptress. Can you see the way it shimmers gold in the light. My gosh, I have never seen prettier card stock!

I used my much neglected embosslit from Stampin' Up called Beautiful Wings. I am not sure why I don't use it more. The butterflies are so pretty. I used the scraps from my scrap gold paper to cut them out. PHEW...It was just big enough for this.

I hope you all have a great day. I am going to hang this card in my craft room as a reminder that spring really will come, at least that is what has happened in past years, lol. Though it feels warmer today because the icy wind is gone, there was frost on the car windows this morning...sigh...I am watching the gardens though, waiting for the first buds to appear :o)
