I cut each layer smaller than the previous one to give the rose a 3D look. I added gold around the edges of the petals using my gold metallic gel roller pen. For some sparkle, I ran my sakura glitter pen around it. If you click on the picture, you can see a bit of it which looks really pretty with the subtle sparkles near the gold. I also added all the smudges with the same pen. Some I did randomly, while others I put in specific spots, like the corners. 
The origami frame is...hmmmm...what to call it? Well, it has dimension since it does not sit flat on the picture.
It is so much fun to do the origami. It can truly be a challenge to fold small shapes so it is good I like a challenge. Have you tried origami? What do you think of it? This fold is so pretty. I really like the look of petals it gives. The leaves were made with the Kitchen Sink Stamp set 4-Step Rose. The butterflies were die cut using the Stampin' Up embosslit Beautiful Wings. The window box is made out of the Stampin' Up wood sheets distressed with Really Rust, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip inks.
I added a few on the inside along with a single origami flower. Cute and simple.

I have had my flower soft for months. The only one I have used is the white for Christmas cards. I finally broke down yesterday and actually made flowers with it!
Doing the origami frame, I need something to frame. I wanted to used a wonderful new image from Digital Stamp Oasis, but my paper has not arrived yet. I found, on the paper I have, even my prisma color pencils smudged the ink! WOW! That is when it hit me that many things can be framed, not only images.

The frame was so much fun to make and I really like how it turned out. The butterflies were made with the Stampin' Up beautiful wings embosslit.
Of course, the inside needed a bit of dressing up also

VictoriaI have a new technique that I am learning, though it is so old I am not sure if the origins for it are even known, LOL. I have always been interested in how origami was done. I have tried and tried to follow written directions for it to no avail. They are the most confusing instructions I have ever tried to follow.
When My Creative Classroom advertised a class for origami, I signed up right away. I have taken some fun classes from them before and really liked them. My hope was to "see" the technique, but not on Youtube where I find the videos often do not have the clearity or close up shots I need in order to "see" what they are doing. After seeing, practicing a few times and comparing them to the written directions, perhaps the directions will make more sense to me.
Of course, like every class, they started with a very simple fold...YEAH!!! I can tell you that it is so much easier to understand when you are seeing a person fold those small squares, circles, ovals, etc
Here is the card made with the first fold we learned. You can click on either photo to get a good look at the fold.
This next card used a scalloped oval rather than a square that was used in the previous card. I am not sure why, but the oval did not line up well. With the final 2 folds, one side ended up larger than the other, LOL. Perhaps I will try it with a plain oval next time.
Gosh, I love learning something new, don't you. This weeks fold will make a nice frame and I have already picked out the stamp I would like to use. Hopefully my paper order will arrive so I can print it out. If not, I have an actual rubber stamp image I have chosen, LOL

I paid $2.95 for the digital file and received not one, but 6 flowers in 4 different colors AND matching envelopes. You also receive some clip art of the rose images with leaves. That means I can print out 6 different cards with matching envelopes or print the clip art and layer onto a card front.
Another great aspect of digital images is the resizing that you can do. This is a 3 x 3” card, so the rose is just under 3”. When I opened the file, though, the rose took up a whole 11 x 8 ½ page. At that size it could be used as the actual card itself. Here are a few more photos for you to see.
The Angel Policy for this flower requires that the information on the back of the rose be visible when the project is complete. Since my first thought was to adhere it to a card front, I needed to rethink my project. Card-i-gami is available in other designs as well a box tops. Super cool.
Next I would like to share another super cool site, Crafts U Print. They have over 48,000 projects that you can purchase and download. When you go to check it out, make sure you have a bit of time to get a really good feel for their products. One simply can loose track of time browsing them all.
They also have loads of categories, styles and images that I could not even touch on them in a post. Here are 2 of the cards I downloaded from them.
I sprayed the page with glimmer mist before cutting each section out. This gave the image a wonderful shimmery look. I used outline stickers on the corners, silver cord around the frame and liquid pearls on the center of each flower.
This image called Forget-me-not spiral pyramid cost a mere $1.23.
I have one more card to share with you. I purchased it from Crafts U Print also.
If you are not fond of cutting detailed images, I would not recommend this image to you.
There are up to 3 layers that need to be cut out...for example..you need to cut out 2 of the butterflies that will be attached on top of each other to make a 3 layer butterfly.
This image is called...ready...Elegant Pink Roses On Fancy Lace Frame With Embellishments. WOW, that is a long name!
Again, this card was a mere $1.23, no shipping, of course, and I can print it out as many times as I would like. Perfect!
Well, this is one long post. I am so glad you stuck with me :o) If you noticed that the font kept changing through out the post, I did too. I just have no idea why, nor was I able to change it. So weird, LOL
