For my card I decided to use the March pixie of the month. With her hands held together this way, all I could think of was her holding a nice large chocolate egg. Of course, with the little smirk, she had to have been nibbling on it, lol.

Little Booklet

What a fun challenge we have this week for Digital Tuesday Challenge. We get to pretend we are a kid again and make something super FOR THE KIDS. When I make a project for a child, I always go to something that I would have liked. Since I was a bit of a tomboy, this can work out well for the boys too.

My Grafico gave the DT a really fun set called Carousel Set to play with this week. The set comes with 18 adorable images. This is the largest.

I was not sure what to make with it at first since I printed it out so large. (on the computer it did not seem so large, lol) I decided to make one of my all time favourite items, a notebook. I have had a love affair with paper ever since I can remember. I started hording it before 1st grade! I remember have a drawer of sheets of paper I would not let anyone touch, lol. I was the only one who could look and touch my treasure.

As I grew up and entered school, I fell in love with blank notebooks. They kept paper so nice and neat rather than thrown in a drawer. Soooo...that is what I made.

I used leather paper from Paper Temptress, which is a very sturdy paper, almost impossible to rip. I kept to the nice bright colors that little ones like, keeping my coloring simple. The only embellie being the bows so there is not much to fall off as the little one uses it.

I am excited to see what you make for the little ones in your life. Don't forget that you must use a digi on the project (image, sentiment or paper). No complicated rules for Digital Tuesday Challenges, lol Enjoy playing!!!

Welcome to DTC 100th challenge BLOG HOP!

Just check out how well the paper matches the image. No trying to find the right paper to match the image or one another.

The inside sentiment says "Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower", which is from the "Happiness Shared" set from Stampin' Up.

The paper is just to pretty to only make a card. Here I made a square box to hold a small flower pot. I love these flowers, but when I purchased them I had not realized how big they were! So very glad I had a chance to use them.

Holding the lid closed I used some magnets.

Finally I made a seed packet holder to attach to some gardening tools.

Frustrated? Well punch Away!

That's right. Just punch out your frustration with some punches. Grab those small scrap papers and make them into pretty shapes to Ohhh and Ahhh at. Then file them away for those quick and easy cards. AND...you can use some for this weeks Digital Tuesday Challenge. That's right...the challenge this week is to use PUNCHES!

I used a sketch that I found while surfing blogs. I was sure I book marked the site, but now can't seem to find it. I guess that is one challenge I will not enter this week, lol.  I do not often use sketches, but will more often. It took so much less time to make the card knowing the design I was going with. Beside choosing out pattern paper, that is the hardest thing about making a project for me, creating a design.

I am off to go through my scraps and punch away! I am so much looking forward to seeing all the entries.

A Challenge For You and Some Fun News!!!

One of the rules changed since I have been away so I will post the change for you.

• You must use something digital on your project. Either an image, sentiment or paper. It does not have to be the focal point of your project.  (this is the part that has changed).

For one of the embellishments, I decided to add a tea fold medallion. I am not sure what kind of fold this is! The fold I was trying to do just would not co-opporate so I ended up just improvising. I do love this Paper Temptress paper for medallions. It adds just the right amount of added interest with the stunning shimmer.

Poinsetta, Stitching and a Quick Tip

STITCHING! Are you like me and hate sewing? I learned how to years ago and have disliked it (to put it mildly) once I learned how. When I heard of stitching on paper, my first thought was "uggggg", but I gave it a try anyway. I loved it instantly. Sewing/stitching on paper is so much more fun and much easier than sewing fabric, plus you get almost instant gratification (yeah!)

This week the Digital Tuesday Challenge is stitching, faux or real. If you have not tried it, now is a fantastic time.

The design team was lucky enough to be able to choose any image from the store to play with. I chose the lovely image called Hand Picked.

I used both real and faux stitching on my card. For the real stitching around the frame I used metallic embroidery floss. I also used the floss to stitch on the gold beads in the center of the Poinsetta. I used my Prisma gold marker for the faux stitching, to color the boarder and on the flower.

I did not have any gold pearls, so I used my Prisma gold pen to color the pearls before adding them. I did let them dry, but they still dulled on the top when pressing them onto the paper with my fingers.

My TIP is that when using metallic pens to color pearls or even brads, to reapply it to the tops after adhereing to restore the gold/silver luster.

The base of the card is actually gold gloss cardstock. The camera did not pick up the shine of the gloss, though. I purchased this particular paper from Papter Temptress. Three things I love about this paper are that it really has a beautiful gloss/shimmery look, it is a light gold I have not found anywhere else and it is white on opposing side which makes it perfect for using as a card base.

Celebrate Everything Everyday

There are so many things to celebrate today, such as health, family and a wonderful life in general. Among these many blessings, there is one other thing to celebrate today. Wink Wink Ink is hosting the "Other Things" challenge over at CDAC (Crafters Digital Art Center). The link HERE will take you directly to the challenge.

One of these 5 sets must be used for the challenge.

To download the set, all you need to do is click on it...when the new window opens, just right click...save as and save in your Wink Wink Ink file. If you do not have a file full of WWI images yet, now is a great time to start a folder to fill {{{wink}}}

I used the set to make a delicious card that can be used for many occasions, because every day offers something to celebrate!

For this card I used 4 images from the set...cupcake, rose, candle, sentiment stick (not sure what the real name of it is, lol}. A tent card seemed to be perfect for the images :o)

I will be watching the challenge as I am excited to see what creations are made with this or the other adorable images that WWI is offering for free!
