Paper Tole and Machine Stitching

WOW, I can't believe it is August already. I took the past 2 months off to babysit my grandson (he just turned 7 months) as my daughter took her summer classes. She and her husband both work full time also, which made for some VERY LONG days 4x a week, LOL. The summer schedule has slowed down starting this coming week but I was able to sneak into my craft room last week!

I'll tell you, it was not easy. It seemed as though I had never paper crafted before. I was suddenly as overwhelmed as a newbie. Where to start??? While babysitting (at my daughters house so no craft room) I did spend much of his nap time cutting and putting together paper tole images. That is where I decided to begin. Considering that the paper tole image was all ready to go, this card went together quite easily. Here is a close up of the paper tole. I love the glitter and the vintage look of this image. I am generally not a vintage type person, but I am growing to really enjoy it. Now all I have to do is find some designer paper that matches the vintage style. I know...more shopping! But what is a crafter to do without just the right paper {{[wink}}} I used my sewing machine for the 2nd time and am loving it. I can't believe I waited over a year to pull it out after being so excited to buy it! I know, I know, crafters just don't do that kind of thing, right, LOL
I did not have gold pearls so I pulled out my SU pearls and my much loved Krylon gold leaf pen. The hardest part was waiting for them dry!
The sentiment I used is from an SU set I seem to always pull out, Warmest Regards. I really think it is the best purchase I made regarding SU stamps. Along the bottoms I used the Moonlit Vase Kit from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. They make the most fantastic peg stamps. They are tiny, but oh so versatile. RST stamps can be purchased individually as well as in kits. I hope you check them out, you will not be disappointed.

OK...so now I must confess that I made this card for this weeks Digital Tuesday Challenge. The challenge this week is to use 2 different stamp companies, which I did. BUT>>>notice the "DIGITAL" in the name. What a DUH moment I had when I finished, since both SU and RST are rubber stamp companies! Sheesh! It would actually match next weeks challenge too, if they were digital stamps. I am not going to tell you what the next Digital Tuesday Challenge is though, tee he he. Maybe you will be able to guess...what do you think?
Here are a few more pictures for you, since I took and edited them, LOL

Thank you for stopping by. I am soooooo looking forward to getting back in the craft room and share with you. HUGS
