Last Rose Of Summer?

I love the song "Last Rose of Summer" I have it on a CD from Celtic Women, though you may know it from else where. The fall has its own blessings but summer blossoms of all kinds bring a certain joy to spring and summer. I love the lily of the valley in my yard but the lovely scent only lasts for a couple of weeks in early summer. Our roses, on the other hand, send forth thier sweet smell all summer long.
I made this card using a paper tole image and some rubber stamps from Stampin' Up. The paper is the beautiful irridecent paper from Paper Temptress. This is one rose that will last a bit longer than the beautiful roses in my yard. Hmmm, I just thought of something, perhaps I can add a little bit of rose oil to it and it will have the sweet scent too! A trip to the mall my be in order for today, LOL

Of course, as a bling, bling person, I had to add some dazzling diamonds to this pretty rose.
I was fortunate enough to get a wonderful shot of the the shimmer this paper gives. It is so pretty.

When search for just the right sentiment, I found this one which not only is great for the card, but the font matches the background stamp really well. So nice when that happens!

I write ths post as the news is replaying the tragity of Sept 11. 2001. I think this card is quite appropriate for the day as we all remember those who lost their lives, civilians and emergancy responders. The families of those lost and those who are now suffering physical effects from the smoke and dust. Our military who fight for peace and those who lost their lives doing so. I think we have all been touched, one way or another, by this tragity. Thank you for spening part of your day with me, and may we never forget.

Challenges I am entering this card into:
Stamptacular: Distress it
Pile it on: Pile on the layers
Lexi's creations: Flower power
Creative Inspirations: Lace and sparkle
Fab n' Funky: What eva
