The Wooly Bears Say....

Melanie, the creator of the Wink Wink Ink images, has come up with another super cute set. This set is called Wooly Bears. Is there anyone who does not know what a wooly bear is? Well, if you don't, they are the absolute cutest caterpillars you will ever see.

They are fairly short and sooooo fluffy. They have the sweetest disposition ever, lol, and tickle when they crawl on you. I was once told by a dear friend that you can tell how long the winter will be by the width of the brown stripe.
You see, they are black on each end and various shades of brown in the middle. If I remember correctly, the wider the brown, the longer the winter. I have not seen any of these cuties this year, so I figure that means the winter will not arrive or it will last forever, LOL

I decided to make a tag with this sweetie to put with a gift for one of my friends. Isn't the saying cute. The set actually comes with 3 separate sentiments to fit just about any occasion. Since they are digital stamps, you can resize and rotate them to your hearts content. The only thing you can't do is make the brown shorter, lol

I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but I used my paper tole tool (say that 10x fast, tee he he) to add a bit of dimension to the leaves and the face of the wooly bear. TIP: If you ever decide to do this, it is so much easier if you spread some type of glue to the back of the image first. When dry, you can use an embossing tool by giving light pressure and rubbing in circles or make straight lines. The glue also helps keep the thin areas, like the branches on this image, to not tear off. It also helps prevent the piercing tool from poking through the paper.

Have you seen any of these guys this year? If so, how wide was the brown, LOL. I would love to know how long the winter is going to last!

Challenges I am entering this tag into:
Tuesday Throwdown: Celebrate fall
Top Tip Tuesday: Share a tip
Paper Pretties: Brads or eyelets
Paper Cutz: Use a tag

Hugs,

What an adorable little tag.

Great tip too Sandy - and so useful for lots of other times you need to stengthen a piece of card/paper before 'manipulating' it! Thanks :)

Thanks for joining us for our first Top Tip Tuesday :)
