The Three C's: Cards, Confession and a Contest

How often do you want to spend the day in you scrap room, but you have errands that you HAVE to do? For me, it is every time I have errands to do, LOL. Today is my errand day, so I made a couple of quick Cards to share with you today.

One of the new items Stampin' Up is carrying in this catalog are "Sticky Pages" . You can find them on page 180. I almost missed them myself since there is not picture and the write up is rather small.  For only $6.95 you get (2) 12 x 12" sheets of sticky pages.  If you have ever used the red lined sticky strip tape, then you will know exactly what these pages are.  They are full sheets of the sticky strip tape adhesive.

You can cut it to any size and shape that you want with just you paper snips or for a really straight cut, you can use your paper cutter. Today I played with this new product so I could share some ways to utilize these versatile sheets.

078  For this card I cut a piece about 2 x 5" in size, took the red lining off the sticky sheet  and applied some of the gold Outline Stickers to the sticky side using my tweezers.

After placing the sheet into my powder pal, I used a tiny spoon to apply glitter to them.  For the rose, I made a mask using the red liner to cover the leaves as I added the red. When the red was burnished (patted down to make it smooth and even) and the excess glitter removed, I removed the mask and glittered the leaves in green.

You will notice that I did not press the mask down enough and some red got into the leaf. If this happens, you can touch up the area with a glue pen and add the correct color. Then LET IT DRY, LOL. I did touch this up to make sure it would work, but did not wait for it to dry (busy day, remember, LOL) and it rubbed off. 083

I did have to cut these out, but it is really easy.  The outline sticker, glitter and the thickness of the tape help to guide the scissors. When they were all cut, I simply removed the image from the backing and attached to the card front, filling in the space with plain stickers. Once the tape touches the paper, there is no removing it! LOL. I dropped the large red heart and it ended up to close to the edge, so I had to leave it there.

For the second card I removed the red liner, applied it to a sheet of bashful blue card stock and ran it through my big shot using the new SU Beautiful Butterflies die. This die is exclusive to Stampin' Up and I absolutely LOVE it! I removed the white liner and applies Dazzling Diamonds glitter. No scissors required, LOL

I also used the Big Shot Scallop Circle and Scallop Circle #2 Dies to make this card. All of these dies can be found on pages 196 & 197.

How pretty is this! The hardest part, for me, was tying the ribbon with the charm on it. I am going to have to search and see if there is an easier way, LOL

Here is a peek at the inside. 089

I am going to give this to one of my sister-in-laws for their birthday. I think she will like it.

Confession time: At the beginning of the month, I challenged myself to make one scrapbook layout a week for the entire month. {{{SIGH}}} {{{BLUSH}}} I have not made even one yet! Now my new goal it to make at least one this month! It will probably be easier if I add it to my "to do" list rather then just fit it in when I have nothing else to do, LOL...Do you ever do that??? I seem to do it often...time to break the habit.

Contest: Are you interested in something sweet???  Well....I decided I was going to have a blog candy contest as I came up to 15,000 views. Would you believe that it came up so quickly, it is to late to go for that number....unless I were to end it tomorrow, HA! That would be no fun! Sooo.... I decided that I will have the contest to celebrate 16,000 views. Granted, a lot of those views are me, LOL, since every time I post or change something I check it over and over to make sure it looks OK.

So, between today and the 16,000th view, everyone who leaves a comment will be entered into a drawing. The winner will be picked by random. Each comment will be given a number (1,2,3....) so every time you make a comment, you will have another number in the drawing.

As I said, I have errands to run today, one of them being to stop at the LSS to get a refill for my much loved Staz-on stone gray ink pad. Soooo....I will post the list of yummies tomorrow.  The contest will start today, though.

I can tell you that one of the items is a beautiful retired set from SU. I liked this set so much, that I bought 2!

Flowers of Gratitude: Hostess set from the 2005/2006 catalog, level 1, set of 4, new & unmounted.

This set goes perfectly with the current level 1 hostess set Dear Friend. Tomorrow I will post a picture of it for you :o) so you can see how pretty this set is!

So....leave a comment, tell your friends and come back tomorrow to see what other goodies will be up for grabs!

Till then...HUGS...Sandy O
